How to choose your GTA wedding photographer

There are over four hundred wedding photographers active in the GTA. After eight years of doing this work, here is what I wish every couple knew before booking.

First — look at full galleries, not Instagram. Anyone can curate ten beautiful images. Ask to see two complete weddings from start to finish. The middle of the day, when the light is bad and the dance floor is hot, tells you who can actually work.

Second — meet them before you book. A wedding day is twelve hours with one person you barely know. The right photographer should feel like a slightly more competent cousin, not a stranger holding a camera.

Third — ask about backups. Two cameras, two memory cards, two photographers, two hard drives. If your photographer cannot answer that question without hesitating, keep looking.
