A Sikh wedding at Pearson Convention Centre
The morning began before sunrise. Priya was in her parents' home in Brampton, the room scented with rose and warm chai, the rustle of red lehenga silk filling every quiet pause.
At the Pearson Convention Centre, the Anand Karaj began under a hand-stitched canopy of gold marigold. The granthi's voice rose with the laavan and the sangat answered — every relative, every friend, voices folding into one another.
What stays with you from a Sikh wedding is the quiet, not the spectacle. The way Arjun's grandfather wiped his eyes during the fourth laav. The way Priya's mother held her hand a beat longer than necessary before letting go.
We photographed for ten hours and delivered just over 800 final images. These are six of our favourites.
